Representatives of the Shas party recommended Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to President Isaac Herzog as the candidate to form the next government. In a conversation with the president, MK Yinon Azoulay criticized the opposition and public reaction to the party's opposition to the conscription of yeshiva students. Azoulay stated: "Suddenly we are no longer parasites, suddenly the same politicians are talking about a new direction for the discussion. We have never belittled the dignity of IDF soldiers.
