Suspicion: Emergency squad member threatened Netanyahu family
The Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court extended the detention of Raz Weinberger, a member of an emergency response squad, suspected of threats and incitement against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his family. The police presented severe publications, including a call to do to a family member of the PM what a Nukhba terrorist did. The defense argued the account had only 44 followers.
The Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court extended the detention of Raz Weinberger, a member of an emergency response squad, until Wednesday, on suspicion of threats and incitement against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his family. Weinberger was arrested on Friday, suspected of publishing calls for violence, incitement to terrorism, and support for a terrorist organization. The police presented an example of a publication in which he wrote that what a Nukhba terrorist did should be done to a family member of the Prime Minister, as well as statements about beheading and a guillotine. The defense argued that the account had only 44 followers and that the suspect volunteered with the police and served in the reserves. The judge ruled that the style and frequency of the statements indicate dangerousness, especially given the proximity to the elections and the fact that the suspect holds a weapons license.
