Subsidized tickets removed: Jerusalem Municipality and Eyal Golan controversy

The Jerusalem Municipality removed a publication about subsidizing tickets for a concert by singer Eyal Golan, scheduled for November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Deputy Mayor Yael Bitton de Lange criticized holding the event on that date given the allegations against Golan. The municipality claims all subsidized tickets were sold, hence the removal. Eyal Golan was previously investigated on suspicion of sex offenses in the 2013 'Social Games' affair, and the case was closed in 2023 due to lack of evidence. In October 2026, the state informed the High Court of 'complementary investigation' following a complainant's petition. In May 2026, Golan was questioned again following a new complaint.
