Chairman of the Central Elections Committee, Judge Noam Solberg, fined National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and his Otzma Yehudit faction 35,000 shekels, after determining that for the third time the minister used a prison visit for election propaganda. Solberg harshly criticized the minister's repeated conduct, ruling that he 'does not change his ways.' The decision came following a petition by the Movement for Quality Government against a video Ben Gvir published on October 11, in which he was seen inside a prison cell alongside inmates and prison guards. In the video, Ben Gvir told an inmate: 'You fell on the wrong minister. I'm not afraid of you or a thousand more like you. And inshallah we will execute you.' Solberg rejected Ben Gvir's claim that blurring faces made the use of public assets marginal, and ruled that the minister enjoys an access advantage unavailable to other candidates. Concurrently, an additional petition was filed against another video of Ben Gvir, and Solberg ordered its removal under a temporary injunction.
