Smotrich's No. 2: What I'd most like is to close the Education Ministry
Moshe Feiglin, chairman of the Zehut party and number 2 on the joint list with Religious Zionism, said he would close the Education Ministry, which he called "the ministry of ignorance, corruption, and progress". In a podcast interview, he stated he would close two-thirds of government ministries, including Culture, Environmental Protection, Agriculture, and Economy, and opposes public funding for yeshivas and universities.
Moshe Feiglin, chairman of the Zehut party and number 2 on the joint list with Bezalel Smotrich's Religious Zionism, said in an interview on the "Everything is Open" podcast that he would close the Education Ministry, which he called "the ministry of ignorance, corruption, and progress". According to him, "What I'd most like is to close the Education Ministry. It is the anti-education ministry." Feiglin noted he would close two-thirds of government ministries, including Culture, Environmental Protection, Agriculture, and Economy, and proposes operating only 11 ministries, similar to Ben-Gurion's government. He expressed opposition to public funding for cultural institutions like Habima and Cameri, arguing the state should not intervene in culture or studies. Regarding yeshivas, he said there is no need for government support for Torah studies, and that true Torah should be independent. He also criticized funding for the gender studies department at Tel Aviv University, which he called "the pagan ideological yeshiva". Feiglin and Smotrich agreed on a purely technical joint run, conducting separate campaigns, and in recent polls they stand at 5-8 seats.
