At an election rally in Modiin, Gadi Eisenkot committed to reducing the number of government ministries from 37 to 24, abolishing the position of additional minister in the Defense Ministry (currently held by Bezalel Smotrich), reinstating administrative orders, and allowing 60,000–70,000 Palestinian workers who have passed Shin Bet clearance into Israel. Eisenkot criticized Boaz Bismuth, chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, saying his ability to manage the committee is 'like my ability to manage the International Space Agency.' He promised to limit the prime minister's term to eight years, because 'power corrupts.' Regarding concerns about defections from his party, he clarified: 'There will be no Silman or Shikli in our ranks.'
