Sister of Michal Sela, murdered by her husband: "I am going to the Knesset so that murderers stop living like in paradise"

Lily Ben-Ami, sister of Michal Sela who was murdered by her husband, is running for the Knesset from the Yisrael Beiteinu party. She has already passed a law stripping parental rights from parents who murder, and founded the Michal Sela Fund, which has saved 52 women. Her main goal is to toughen penalties for murderers and ban prison furloughs.

Lily Ben-Ami, sister of Michal Sela who was murdered by her husband, is running for the Knesset from the Yisrael Beiteinu party (11th spot on the list). Seven years ago, Michal was stabbed to death by her husband in front of their 8-month-old daughter; the murderer did not call an ambulance for 17 hours. Lily founded the Michal Sela Fund, which introduced AI-based panic buttons, home protection programs, and service dogs for women under threat — over 1,000 homes have received help, and 52 women have been saved. She succeeded in passing a law that strips parental rights from parents who murder their spouse or rape children. Now Lily aims to achieve a complete ban on prison furloughs for murderers and create an open registry of violent offenders. She states that Israel has become a "paradise for criminals," where murderers can change their names and go on furlough without electronic bracelets.
