Ahead of the opening of the polls, Constitution Committee Chairman MK Simcha Rothman gives an interview to Maariv and clarifies his positions. Rothman states that he prefers repeat elections over a left-wing government and expresses confidence in the achievements of the judicial reform. According to him, three out of four chapters of the reform have passed in full: the reasonableness clause was enacted, the committee for selecting judges was changed, and the powers of the legal advisor underwent a deep change. He sharply attacks the High Court, claiming that its judges "destroyed the Israeli legal system" and "lost their legitimacy." Rothman recounts a confrontation with the Deputy Attorney General, Gil Limon, whom he ejected from the committee. He declares that the next government will be established based on the values of the national camp and calls on all who accept these values to join. The interview reflects the positions of the political right on the eve of the elections, using sharp language and harsh criticism of the legal system.
