Siege of Hebron: Displacement of over 780 families and widespread economic losses
The repercussions of the Israeli aggression on Hebron continue for the tenth day, with over 780 families affected, 537 of them completely displaced, and more than 115 citizens arrested, amid a tightened siege and widespread economic losses.
The repercussions of the Israeli aggression on the city of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank continue for the tenth consecutive day, with the tightening of the siege, reinforcement of military deployment, continued house raids and vandalism of their contents, and forcing more families to evacuate forcibly. Last night and Sunday dawn, the city witnessed the arrival of large military reinforcements from several entrances towards the Deir Baha area west of Hebron, coinciding with its continued closure and siege, and the storming and searching of citizens' homes. On Friday, occupation forces blew up the homes of the martyrs Ahmad and Hamouda al-Ja'ba in the area, who were killed on October 23 of this year by occupation soldiers' fire at the Farsh al-Hawa checkpoint north of the city. The latest data indicates that more than 780 families have been affected by the aggression, including 537 families that were completely displaced, while about 5,000 citizens face harsh conditions due to the siege and displacement, especially in the al-Jalda and Deir Baha areas. Occupation forces have also arrested more than 115 citizens since the start of the aggression, including a girl, and detained hundreds of others, subjecting them to field interrogation and abuse. In the context of humanitarian response, the Support and Relief Committee approved data for 537 families comprising 3,361 individuals, including 1,193 children, 232 infants, 326 elderly, 147 pregnant and breastfeeding women, in addition to 32 people with disabilities and 213 with chronic diseases. Economically, the Hebron Chamber of Commerce estimated the direct losses resulting from the closures.
