Footage from a motorcycle camera of a female rider in India captured the moment a white vehicle approached her, hit her, and continued driving. The video went viral and sparked a major public uproar across the country. The driver, Kalyan Bainsla, a gym owner by profession, was arrested. Initially, the case was filed on suspicion of reckless driving and endangering human life, but later police added a charge of "attempted murder," which could lead to a prison sentence of up to 10 years. Bainsla claimed that the group of motorcyclists repeatedly overtook his vehicle, slowed down in front of him, and that he lost control near a U-turn while trying to avoid the rider. According to him, he drove away out of fear that the motorcyclists would attack him and his relatives. The rider denied his version, claiming that the vehicle began following the group, that the occupants became hostile and asked her to stop, and that she suspected they were drunk. Bainsla's lawyer denied her claims and noted that it was a case of negligent driving. The rider suffered only minor injuries thanks to the protective gear she was wearing. No verdict has been given yet.
