Severely wounded in stabbing, killed in car explosion: This is the witness murdered during an ongoing trial
Noam Salma (25) from Binyamina, who was severely wounded in a stabbing in May, was killed in a car explosion near Or Akiva. He was the key witness in the trial against Orkhan Kuliev, who was charged with the stabbing. Police are investigating a criminal background, but a source in the case claims the evidence is strong enough and the elimination will not affect the proceedings.
Noam Salma (25) from Binyamina is the victim of a car explosion that occurred last night (Thursday) at the Pal-Yam junction near Or Akiva on Highway 4. MDA teams pronounced him dead at the scene. The Central Unit of the Coastal District Police launched an investigation on suspicion of murder with a criminal motive, and is examining additional directions. The body was transferred for an autopsy at the Abu Kabir Institute of Forensic Medicine. Salma was the key witness in a trial underway at the Haifa District Court, following his severe stabbing injury in May this year outside a club in Pardes Hanna. Orkhan Kuliev (38) was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and illegal possession of a knife, after stabbing Salma and his cousin. His cousin was also severely injured at the time. A source involved in the investigation said: "He had no chance, the explosive device was unusually heavy." Attorney Rotem Cohen, who represented the deceased in the past, said that Salma was undergoing a legal rehabilitation process and wished to recover and build a new life. A source familiar with the stabbing case said the case is based on footage and very strong evidence, so the elimination will not affect the legal proceedings.
