A 25-year-old resident of Eilat was arrested on suspicion of severe sexual harassment of a young woman at a nightclub in the city, and subsequently acted violently toward her and toward the police officers who arrested him. The suspect, who was under the influence of alcohol, cursed and insulted the officers during his arrest and while being taken to the station. Police investigators collected video footage of the incident and took testimonies. Attorney Ya'el Darby, representing the suspect, argued that the minor's presence at the club was illegal. Police representative Chief Warrant Officer Moshe Nissim responded that even over the age of 18, touching is forbidden. Eilat Magistrate's Court Judge Sami Israel ruled that there are grounds for detention due to concerns of obstruction of the investigation and risk to the public, and extended the suspect's detention.
