Serious suspicion against Ra'am: Voter tracking app and ties to the PA
The 'Choosing Life' forum filed a complaint with the head of the Shin Bet, alleging that Ra'am activists used the 'Aswatcom' app to track voters in real time, in violation of the law. It was also claimed that elements from Ramallah with ties to the Palestinian Authority were involved in its development.
The 'Choosing Life' forum, which brings together bereaved families and victims of terror, filed a formal complaint with Shin Bet chief David Zini following the exposure of an app called 'Aswatcom' allegedly used by key activists of the Ra'am party to monitor voter turnout in real time during the elections for the 26th Knesset. According to the forum, the app was uploaded to the network on September 15, 2026, about a month and a half before election day, and recorded more than 500 downloads on Google Play. The complaint alleges that the system allowed the activists' command center to receive precise data on voter arrival patterns at each polling station, in violation of a High Court ruling that prohibited the transfer of identifying information from polling stations. Another serious layer is the suspicion of involvement by elements from Ramallah with ties to the Palestinian Authority in developing the app, which could grant them access to personal information on Israeli citizens. The forum demands a comprehensive criminal investigation, seizure of servers and databases, and examination of the operators and funders. The article presents the forum's claims without a response from Ra'am.
