Ronen Bar vs. Netanyahu: "We cannot allow the string of lies to continue"

Former Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar filed a defamation lawsuit against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, following an incitement campaign and manipulative publication of documents. Bar demands the disclosure of all documents and meeting logs, claiming he warned Netanyahu in real time about the impending disaster, but Netanyahu ignored him.

Former Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar filed a defamation lawsuit against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, following an incitement campaign and manipulative publication of documents. In a statement on his behalf, it was written that Netanyahu launched an unrestrained incitement campaign with no basis in reality, and that after three years of refusing to accept responsibility and preventing the establishment of a state commission of inquiry, he began publishing partial documents in a manipulative manner, taken out of their true context. Bar claims he warned Netanyahu in real time about the impending disaster, and that Netanyahu ignored these warnings, as well as recommendations to restore deterrence and strengthen the border. Bar calls on Netanyahu to disclose all documents immediately, so the public can be exposed to the full truth, without manipulation. In response, Netanyahu's office was quoted as claiming that Bar never warned the Prime Minister, and that the left-wing media is conducting a vile and false campaign against Netanyahu. It was further claimed that on the night of October 7, Bar held conversations with the Chief of Staff and the head of Military Intelligence, but did not update the Prime Minister.
