Rina Matzlich called to support Danny Kushmaro – Almog Cohen responded harshly

Journalist Rina Matzlich called on Hapoel Be'er Sheva fans to support News 12 anchor Danny Kushmaro, following the controversy over his remarks about the residents of Ofakim. Deputy Minister Almog Cohen responded sharply, retweeting her words and writing: 'Rina Matzlich, a native of Be'er Sheva, not only does not condemn Danny Kushmaro's statement, but encourages him.' Cohen recalled the heroism of the fallen of Ofakim who stopped the terrorists on their way to Be'er Sheva. The storm began after Kushmaro expressed surprise that about 65% of residents of the Mishor HaGafen neighborhood in Ofakim voted for the Netanyahu bloc, despite the severe events of October 7. Liam Balti, whose father fell in the battle for Ofakim, said in an interview that Kushmaro belittles the residents and harms the memory of the fallen. Mayor Itzik Danino demanded that Kushmaro apologize live on air.
