Washington is preparing to bolster its defenses and build a regional defense array ahead of a possible escalation.
A report citing Western sources, published by the media outlet 'Eram News', claims that the United States has given Israel a green light to expand its military operational freedom against pro-Iranian militias operating in Iraq. According to the report, the IDF and Mossad have completed a series of operational preparations for a possible strike. The main concern in Israel, as quoted in the report, is the entrenchment of a continuous land corridor connecting Iran to Lebanon through Iraq, sometimes referred to as the 'Shiite Crescent'. According to assessments, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps uses this corridor to transfer advanced military equipment, precision ballistic missiles, long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, and financial and logistical support to the militias. One of the goals attributed to Israeli plans is to strike these supply routes. Meanwhile, Washington is preparing to strengthen its defense systems and build a regional defense array ahead of possible retaliatory actions and broad escalation. The report also quotes al-Duwish, who claims that the United States retains significant economic and financial leverage over Iraq, and that if Washington concludes that Baghdad is not restraining the militias, it may use financial tools and restrict fund transfers, which could reduce American opposition to Israeli strikes. There is currently no official confirmation of the report.
