Report: Miriam Adelson sells her shares in Dallas Mavericks
Miriam Adelson has sold her shares in the Dallas Mavericks to her daughter Sivan Ochshorn and son-in-law Patrick Dumont, who now hold 69% controlling stake. The deal was reported Wednesday by ESPN and CBS.
Miriam Adelson, the Israeli-American businesswoman and mother of Hapoel Jerusalem owner Matan Adelson, has sold her entire stake in the NBA team Dallas Mavericks to her daughter Sivan Ochshorn and son-in-law Patrick Dumont. The transaction, completed last month and reported Wednesday evening by ESPN and CBS, grants the Dumont family 69% of the club's shares, making them the sole controlling owners. Patrick Dumont, CEO of Las Vegas Sands, has been the key figure in the team's daily management since the acquisition in late 2023. Former owner Mark Cuban currently holds 27% of the shares, and Dumont has a contractual right to purchase an additional 20% from him at the valuation set in the original deal—$3.5 billion. Meanwhile, the family is advancing a project to build a basketball arena and entertainment complex in North Dallas, targeted for the 2031/32 season. The transfer of control comes at a turbulent time as Dallas recovers from the controversial trade of Luka Dončić in February 2025, which led to the firing of the general manager and a management overhaul. The team is building its future around Cooper Flagg, the season's rookie selected first in the 2025 draft.
