A pod of dolphins, including pink dolphins, was documented swimming near the coast of Oman, close to Kantab Beach in the Muscat Governorate. The footage quickly spread across social media and attracted worldwide attention. In an interview with The Indian Express, Dr. Vinod Sharma, Director and Head of Veterinary Services at DCC Hospital, explained that the pink color may appear naturally in certain dolphin species, such as the Amazon river dolphin (boto) which lives in freshwater, or the Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin, which is born gray and develops a pinkish hue with age. According to him, without scientific confirmation of the species and the cause of the color, it is too early to determine the animal's identity. He emphasized that when encountering dolphins, one should maintain a distance of 50 meters and avoid contact.
