Rami Levy heading abroad: "Negotiating to open branches outside Israel"
Rami Levy stated in a podcast that he is negotiating to open branches of the chain abroad, citing high demand and price gaps compared to Israel. Co-CEO Yafit Atias refused to provide details.
Rami Levy, the controlling shareholder and co-CEO of the Rami Levy Shivuk Hashikma retail chain, stated that he is negotiating to open branches abroad. He made the remarks on a podcast hosted by Ben Ben Baruch, where he revealed he is exploring expansion beyond Israel. Levy noted that during a vacation in Miami, he observed significant price gaps: local products there sell for 3–4 times more than in Israel. He added that he receives inquiries from US marketers who buy his products and sell them at a similar markup. According to him, the strategy that succeeded in Israel could work abroad as well, and he dismissed claims that low prices harm quality. Co-CEO Yafit Atias refused to provide further details on the negotiations. The chain had already expanded to the US in 2018 and operates four Bingo branches on the East Coast, with plans for three more in Miami.
