Ramallah: Escalation of Occupation in the West Bank Requires Urgent International Intervention

The Palestinian government warned of the danger of the ongoing Israeli escalation in the West Bank, the latest manifestation of which is collective punishment measures in Hebron, including the displacement of residents and the demolition of homes. It described the escalation as an aggressive act, held Israel fully responsible, and called on the international community to intervene urgently.

The Palestinian government warned of the danger of the ongoing Israeli escalation in the West Bank, the latest manifestation of which is the collective punishment measures in the Hebron Governorate, including the displacement of entire neighborhoods, the demolition of homes and facilities, and the closure and siege of Palestinian cities, as part of a systematic policy pursued by the occupation government in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. The government described this criminal escalation as an aggressive act targeting the Palestinian people, their land, and their holy sites, holding the occupation government fully responsible for this dangerous overreach, and calling on the international community to intervene urgently and immediately to prevent the occupation and its government from continuing to commit more crimes. It affirmed, in a statement issued by the Government Media Center, that this escalation, which has affected all governorates, will not bring security and peace to anyone, and that its continuation will only lead to more tension and escalation, stressing that the Palestinian people will remain steadfast and clinging to their land, holy sites, and their established historical rights. It also affirmed that it is closely and intently following what is happening in the Hebron Governorate and the rest of the governorates of the homeland, and is employing all its capabilities to identify the needs of citizens and intensify efforts to meet them.
