Ra'am decided to recommend Gadi Eisenkot to form the government
The Ra'am faction decided to recommend to the president that Gadi Eisenkot be tasked with forming the government. The decision comes after the heads of the Change Bloc agreed to support him, but Lieberman clarified that a government can be formed without Ra'am and the Joint List.
The Ra'am faction decided to recommend to President Isaac Herzog that Yashar party chairman Gadi Eisenkot be given the mandate to form the next government. The decision was made today (Wednesday) amid efforts by the Change Bloc parties to establish a new government. Yesterday, the bloc's leaders met in Herzliya and announced they would recommend Eisenkot, emphasizing they would work to form a Zionist government based on the four principles he presented, without including Ra'am and the Joint List. Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Lieberman stated that a stable government can be formed without Ra'am and the Joint List, and clarified that he would not support a minority government. Ra'am's decision comes after earlier this week it was reported that the Joint List also intends to recommend Eisenkot. However, the recommendation does not indicate agreement to include them in the coalition.
