According to a press source, Queiroz held a meeting with association officials to discuss the possibility of taking on the role in the coming period, with the negotiations expected to be concluded within the next few days. The Bahrain Football Association is looking for a new coach to replace Croatian Dragan Talajić, who is close to leaving after the team's group-stage exit in the Gulf Cup "Gulf 27" currently being held in Saudi Arabia. Although Queiroz is considered the leading candidate, the association has contacted other coaches in case negotiations stall. If an agreement is reached, Bahrain would be the fifth Arab national team Queiroz has coached, following his previous stints with the UAE, Egypt, Qatar, and Oman. The source denied reports linking the Portuguese coach to Moroccan club Wydad, confirming that he has not entered into negotiations with the club.
