Qatar's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Majed Al-Ansari, criticized statements in Israel against his country, calling them "childish political moves." In an interview, Al-Ansari was asked about what was termed "the ongoing Israeli provocation against Qatar" and replied that Qatar does not engage in such provocations. He claimed that after the Israeli strike in Doha, which targeted Hamas leadership, Qatar secured commitments to prevent further attacks. Al-Ansari added that Qatar views Israeli politicians' election-season statements "with utter contempt" and that political maneuvers in Israel do not affect it. The backdrop is the severe tension between Israel and Qatar following the strike in Doha, which led to a diplomatic crisis. Following President Trump's intervention, a phone call took place in which Netanyahu apologized to Qatar's prime minister for the violation of sovereignty. Qatar sees this as a diplomatic achievement.
