Private investigator sues billionaire: "He claimed I 'ripped off' the family of a hostage survivor"

Private investigator Zvika Naveh filed two lawsuits against billionaire Alex Sklar. In one, he is suing for two million shekels, alleging that Sklar and bus companies Egged and Metropoline published ads implying his involvement in child abduction. In the second lawsuit, for one million shekels, Naveh claims Sklar portrayed him as having defrauded the family of hostage survivor Liri Albag.

Private investigator Zvika Naveh has filed two lawsuits against Israeli-Australian billionaire Alex Sklar, following a campaign of publications waged against him. In the first lawsuit, filed at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court, Naveh is suing Sklar and transportation companies Egged and Metropoline for two million shekels. This is on the grounds that they allowed ads to be placed on buses stating that Naveh and former Shin Bet chief Yaakov Peri were "involved in child abduction." Naveh claims he has no connection to the case of the abduction of the Block family children in Germany, and that he has not been investigated or charged in the matter. The ads were placed on at least 60 buses on 40 different routes. In the second lawsuit, for one million shekels, Naveh claims Sklar portrayed him as having "ripped off" the family of hostage survivor Liri Albag. Naveh explains that Albag's father, Eli, approached him for help in obtaining a foreign passport for his daughter while she was held hostage. Naveh received one million shekels, and when he failed to obtain the passport, he returned the full amount. The lawsuit quotes Eli Albag himself, who said in interviews that Naveh "tried, didn't succeed, returned the money" and that he had no complaint against him. Defense briefs have not yet been filed.
