President Isaac Herzog clarifies in an interview with i24NEWS that he strongly opposes the possibility of new elections. In the interview, which will be broadcast this evening (Wednesday) in the main edition, Herzog addressed the scenario of election results without a clear majority for either bloc. When asked by what criteria he would decide whom to task with forming the government, he replied that he would listen to the various parties, but emphasized: "If I see that there is also a tie, or there is a deadlock, I strongly oppose the possibility of new elections." Herzog warned against repeating the past scenario: "I think new elections should be the very last resort. I think we reached 2023 and our day of disaster right after five election cycles."
