The plane was en route from Mashhad to Kermanshah in western Iran. According to the official Iranian news agency IRNA, the incident occurred around 17:30. Hassan Jafari, the public relations director of the Airports Authority in Khorasan Razavi province, reported that the pilot indicated a possible engine problem, declared an emergency, and requested to return to the airport. The plane landed safely, and all passengers and crew members emerged unharmed. One of the airport's runways was temporarily closed following the incident. Initial reports claimed that one of the plane's tires had burst, but Jafari clarified that part of the tire's outer casing detached during takeoff. The exact cause of the malfunction is under investigation. Meanwhile, footage was circulated in which screams and prayers of passengers can be heard, but without details allowing its origin to be determined.
