Poll: 8 out of 10 American voters want to change the way their country is run

A poll conducted by the Associated Press and the NORC Center shows that about 8 out of 10 American voters want a change in the way the country is run, coinciding with the midterm congressional elections.

A poll conducted by the Associated Press in collaboration with the NORC Center for Research shows that about 8 out of 10 American voters want a change in the way their country is run, coinciding with the midterm congressional elections. About half of voters expressed a desire for a "substantial change," while about 3 out of 10 called for a "radical and comprehensive change." In contrast, about 2 out of 10 voters said they want limited changes or no change at all. The poll showed that Democratic and independent voters are more inclined than Republicans to demand comprehensive change, but 45% of Republicans also supported making substantial changes, compared to 13% who called for radical comprehensive change. About a third of registered voters considered voting in the midterm elections "very important."
