Police complaint filed over suspected assault of student in Holon: "The teacher choked and slammed him into the door, and continues teaching as usual"

A mother of a sixth-grade student in Holon filed a police complaint against a teacher who allegedly assaulted her son during a lesson on September 17. The mother claims the teacher grabbed her son from behind, choked him, pinched him, and slammed him into the classroom door four times. The teacher apologized and continues teaching, while the boy refuses to attend his classes. The Ministry of Education and police have launched investigations.

A mother of a sixth-grade student at a school in Holon filed a police complaint against a teacher, alleging he assaulted her son during a lesson on September 17. According to the mother, Shaked, the incident occurred in a classroom where there was noise and chaos. The teacher tried to restore order, and she claims he grabbed her son from behind, choked him, pinched his shoulders, and slammed him into the classroom door four times. The mother said that after the incident, she contacted the school staff, and in a phone conversation, she was told the teacher apologized. She made it clear the next day that this was unacceptable. Shaked also contacted the Holon Municipality's Education Administration and the Ministry of Education, and even wrote to Education Minister Yoav Kisch. The Tel Aviv District Supervisor at the Ministry of Education, Moshe Eini, wrote to the mother that he views the incident with great severity and that there is no place for physical force. According to the mother, the system's response amounted to an apology, and the teacher continues teaching as usual, while her son refuses to attend his classes. Following this, she filed a police complaint. The Israel Police stated that an investigation has been opened. The Ministry of Education stated that the incident was handled, steps were taken regarding the teacher, and procedures were reinforced.
