The driver was injured in his eyes and evacuated for medical treatment. The Transport Workers Union warns of a recurring pattern of racist attacks against Arab drivers.

A bus driver for the Superbus company, who had finished his route on line 75 and was on his way to the parking lot on Kanfei Nesharim Street in Jerusalem, encountered a private vehicle blocking his path early in the morning. After asking the passengers to clear the way, they got out of the vehicle and pelted the bus with stones. The driver was injured in his eyes and evacuated for medical treatment; a complaint was filed with the police. The Transport Workers Union in the Koach LaOvdim organization warns that this is a recurring attack pattern, occurring about once a month, on racist grounds — over 50% of public transportation drivers in the city are Arabs. The union recalls the attack on driver Mu'tasim Kak from last August and calls for expanding the city's mounted security unit, which currently has only three guards, recognizing drivers as public employees, and prosecuting the attackers to the fullest extent of the law.
