The 'Swords of Iron' combatants forum filed a petition to the High Court of Justice demanding an order to open a criminal investigation with a warning against Channel 14 and its employees, on suspicion of repeated violations of censorship instructions and the law during the war. The petition, filed against the State Attorney, the Deputy State Attorney, the head of the Investigations Department, the Chief Censor, Channel 14 and its owner Yitzchak Mirilashvili, and several presenters and commentators on the channel, details more than 13 documented incidents. Among the cases: the exposure of intelligence gathering means in Gaza in February 2024, statements before the pager operation in Lebanon, hints before the assassination of Nasrallah and before Operation 'With a Lion' in Iran, the exposure of IDF forces' locations in Lebanon in real time which led to the death of four soldiers, and a violation of a publication ban in the case of the Shin Bet chief's brother. The petitioners claim selective enforcement, pointing to other leak cases where investigations were opened within a short time, while complaints against Channel 14 have not been decided upon for two years.
