Euroleague shareholders will convene tomorrow (Tuesday) in Italy for a vote that will decide which clubs receive a long-term license in Europe's premier competition. Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hapoel Jerusalem are among 13 candidates, with up to eight teams expected to secure permanent status. The bids submitted by the clubs are valued at over 900 million euros. Israel will be represented in the vote by Maccabi Tel Aviv chairman Shimon Mizrahi. Additionally, the board will discuss expanding the league from 20 to 24 teams starting from the 2027/28 season. For Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hapoel Jerusalem, receiving a license would provide professional and financial stability and solidify their standing at the top of European basketball.
