An indictment has been filed in a St. Petersburg court against a Russian citizen, Arkady Nosimovich (68), suspected of murdering a man in Ashkelon 22 years ago. According to the indictment, Nosimovich claimed that the victim, Andrei Chernyavsky, cheated him out of 200 million rubles (about 7.7 million shekels) and decided to settle the score. In March 2004, he purchased a weapon, arrived in Israel with an accomplice, waited for the victim, and shot him at least seven times in the head. After the murder, the two returned to Russia. The accomplice died in 2015. Nosimovich has been charged under Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code, which deals with murder by an organized group for hire. Court hearings are expected to begin soon. Russia's Investigative Committee said it reviewed the case together with Israeli law enforcement, and security cameras placed the suspect at the victim's home on the day of the murder.
