On the way to 61: All the keys of Eisenkot and Netanyahu to victory

The two blocs competing in the elections are, according to polls, in a situation where the chance of forming a majority government seems low. Gadi Eisenkot aims for 61 seats with his bloc, and if the Hendel and Zelicha party passes the electoral threshold, this may be enough for him to become prime minister. Netanyahu, on the other hand, is far from 61 seats according to the polls, and will try to achieve a majority through defectors or a blocking bloc.

The two blocs competing in the elections are, according to polls, in a situation where the chance of forming a majority government seems low. Yashar party chairman Gadi Eisenkot would be happy if the four parties in his bloc achieve 61 seats. In a situation where the reservist-economic party of Yoaz Hendel and Yaron Zelicha passes the electoral threshold, even 61 seats that include them would probably be enough for Eisenkot to become the next prime minister. The next priority for him is to achieve a majority that also includes the Arab parties, which seems very likely according to the polls. If Ra'am party alone is enough to achieve a majority in the Knesset - good. If not, Eisenkot's bloc could prevent Netanyahu from forming a government. In such a case, negotiations with the Arab parties would begin separately, with the aim of passing at least a few laws in the Knesset before the next elections. Netanyahu would also very much like to reach 61 seats together with his current government partners, but according to the polls this is far from him. If he cannot form such a government, he will want to do something close to it, with or without the Amcha Yisrael party of Ofer Winter. In such a situation, the prime minister would also want Hendel and Zelicha to pass the electoral threshold, because they are considered the "easiest prey" in the search for fingers that would complete his majority. Even without them, such a situation would lead to the race for "defectors" beginning. If none of this happens, Netanyahu will work hard to prevent public legitimacy for a minority government of the opposing bloc, and will try to create a blocking bloc to ensure that Bennett and Lieberman keep their election promise and do not allow a government that relies on the Arab parties.
