"On my d**k you won't eat": The argument in the holding cell ended with a bitten and torn ear
An indictment was filed against Akram Zahika, a 24-year-old from Jerusalem, for aggravated assault of another detainee at the Nitzan detention center. According to the indictment, an argument over food led to Zahika punching the victim, biting his ear, and tearing part of his auricle, causing irreversible damage and requiring skin graft surgery.
The Central District Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment this morning against Akram (son of Mahmoud) Zahika, a 24-year-old from Jerusalem, charged with aggravated assault of another detainee at the Nitzan detention center. According to the indictment, the incident occurred on September 26, 2019, at 15:58, in cell 17 of wing 5. One of the detainees woke the victim from his sleep and called him to eat. When he refused, Zahika told him, "Son of a whore, on my d**k you won't eat," and cursed him. The victim got up from his bed out of fear, and other detainees held him, thinking he would attack Zahika. Then Zahika approached the victim, punched him in the head, and bit his right ear forcefully until he tore the upper part of the right auricle, which fell to the blood-covered floor. The damage was irreparable, and the victim required skin graft surgery. Zahika is charged with aggravated assault. During the investigation, he denied the allegations and later exercised his right to remain silent. The prosecution noted that the incident speaks for itself, and that Zahika is in custody until the end of proceedings in another case in which he is accused of attempted murder.
