Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana of Likud was hosted this morning (Monday, 12 October 2026) at the "People of the State" conference of ynet and Yedioth Ahronoth. He said that if there are 61 votes to replace him, it would be legitimate to do so, and ruled out a scenario in which he would not bring the Knesset to a vote on his dismissal: "We are a state of law." Ohana addressed ynet's exposure of a tracking team established by Likud to monitor candidates of Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar!, aimed at bringing defectors after the elections. He said: "I want to believe there are people in Eisenkot's list who do not think Israel kills babies as a hobby." According to him, the chance of bringing defectors is low, and he called on Eisenkot to "keep half an eye open." Ohana outlined the boundaries of a "broad national government": Yair Golan out of bounds, while Naftali Bennett and others are possible. He attacked MK Vinter, who he said endangers the national camp by not resigning. According to poll averages, Netanyahu's bloc stands at 52 seats and Eisenkot's bloc at 52 seats.
