Officer came to provide hot water for soldiers — and was denied entry to the base

The chairwoman of the Deborah Forum appealed to the Chief of Staff after a logistics officer was denied entry to a base on Mount Hermon where a sign reading "Entry for men only" was hung. The IDF clarifies: there is no blanket ban on women entering in professional roles.

The chairwoman of the Deborah Forum, Penina Sharvit Baruch, sent an urgent letter to Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir following a series of incidents in the Haredi Hashmonaim Brigade. The main incident: a logistics officer who came to provide hot water for soldiers at a base on Mount Hermon was denied entry. At the base, an official sign was hung stating "Entry for men only." In her letter, Sharvit Baruch noted that "1 out of 5 fighters is a female fighter" and that the exclusion of women harms operational readiness. An IDF spokesperson stated that the letter was received and would be addressed. An official military source clarified that there is no blanket ban on the entry of professional personnel, men and women, to brigade units for the purpose of performing their duties. The article also notes a similar incident from August in which soldiers refused to board an APC with a female paramedic.
