After military service and a trip to Africa, he began a spiritual process and at age 22 returned to religion after reading the Bible. The fear materialized: after industry figures discovered his faith, he was physically and verbally attacked in the theater by actresses and faced a severe professional boycott. After coming out as religious in a public interview in 2006, job offers dramatically dwindled.
