Ofer Winter hasn't said his last word: "If there are additional elections, he may run again"

Despite his party's failure to pass the electoral threshold in the 2026 elections, sources close to Ofer Winter clarify that he is not retiring from politics and may run again if additional elections are held. The source noted that Winter is optimistic and has built a significant base of approximately 95,000 voters.

Less than a week after the failure in the 2026 elections, in which his party 'Amcha Yisrael' did not pass the electoral threshold, it emerges that party chairman, Brig. Gen. (res.) Ofer Winter, does not intend to retire from political life. A source close to him told Walla: "He is strong, he is encouraged, and he hasn't said his last word. If there are additional elections, there is definitely a possibility that he will run again." Those around him point to political assets he has accumulated: a cohesive team, a field network, a broad database, and about 95,000 voters who supported him. Also being considered is a possible alliance with Yoaz Hendel and Yaron Zelicha, who also did not pass the electoral threshold, but no actual negotiations are known to have taken place.
