"October Council" announces massive rally before elections
The October Council has announced a massive rally to take place on Saturday evening, October 24, at Hostages Square in Tel Aviv, three days before the Knesset elections. The stage is expected to feature Yair Lapid, Naftali Bennett, Gadi Eisenkot, Avigdor Lieberman, and Yair Golan, alongside bereaved families, hostages, and survivors of captivity. The organizers defined the event as the last major public protest before the elections, aiming to place the demand for a state commission of inquiry at the center of the agenda.
The October Council, an organization representing families affected by October 7, has announced a massive rally to be held on Saturday evening, October 24, at Hostages Square in Tel Aviv. The event is scheduled for three days before the Knesset elections and is defined by the organizers as the last major public protest before the vote. The stage is expected to feature five party leaders who have declared their support for establishing a state commission of inquiry: Yair Lapid (Leader of the Opposition), Naftali Bennett (Together), Gadi Eisenkot (Yashar!), Avigdor Lieberman (Yisrael Beiteinu), and Yair Golan (The Democrats). Alongside them, the rally will be led by bereaved families, hostage families, survivors of captivity, and residents of the Gaza border area. The central slogan of the event: "In 3 more days we choose a state commission of inquiry!" The organizers noted that they are working on "big surprises" that will be revealed during the evening. The announcement comes after a previous initiative to hold a similar event on the third anniversary of the massacre did not materialize. The rally will take place after a full day of protests at hundreds of locations across the country marking three years since the massacre.
