Occupation orders uprooting olive trees from 56 dunams in Kafr Malik

The Israeli occupation authorities issued a military order targeting 56 dunams of land in the village of Kafr Malik, northeast of Ramallah, to remove wild plants and uproot olive trees under the pretext of security measures. The order, numbered 98/26, gives farmers seven days to comply. The Palestinian Authority for Resistance to the Wall and Settlement views this as undermining an agricultural resource and imposing new restrictions.

On Sunday, the Israeli occupation authorities issued a military order numbered 98/26, targeting 56.026 dunams of land in the village of Kafr Malik, northeast of Ramallah. The order requires the removal of wild plants and the uprooting of olive trees from this area, under the pretext of taking "security measures." The Authority for Resistance to the Wall and Settlement clarified that the order obligates the landowners, whose land is adjacent to Route 449 south of the village, to carry out the removal within seven days of a tour organized with them, and authorizes the occupation authorities to execute it if they do not. It also allows for an objection to be submitted within seven days after the tour. The authority believes that uprooting olive trees in this location undermines an agricultural resource for the landowners and imposes new restrictions on its use under the pretext of road security. With the addition of the Kafr Malik order, the total number of military orders issued by the occupation authorities since the beginning of 2026 to remove trees and vegetation has risen to 55, targeting a total area of 2,372.606 dunams, compared to 47 orders targeting 1,613 dunams during the entire year of 2025. Thus, the area targeted since the start of this year has exceeded last year's total by 759.606 dunams, indicating an escalation in the use of these orders.
