Israeli occupation forces blew up the homes of prisoners Ibrahim Abdel Karim Daoud and Zakaria Muhammad Daoud on Wednesday, after storming the town of Beita, south of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank. Occupation forces forced residents of homes in the western area of the town to evacuate, while closing entrances to the town, besieging its western neighborhoods, and preventing movement. Occupation forces had notified the families of the two prisoners on October 5 of the demolition of their homes, claiming they were involved in shooting operations and detonating explosive devices that resulted in injuries to Israeli soldiers. The disruption of in-person schooling in the town's schools deprived over five thousand male and female students of access to their schools and kindergartens, according to the mayor of Beita. In the neighboring town of Burin, occupation forces continued their incursion for the second consecutive day, raiding and searching homes, and turning a number of them into military barracks. Under these circumstances, the Director General of Education in South Nablus, Samer al-Jamal, announced the conversion of school attendance to a "learning tasks" system, to ensure the safety of students and teaching and administrative staff and to guarantee the continuation of the educational process. These developments come in the context of escalating demolition operations in the West Bank, as data from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission indicated that occupation authorities carried out 1,814 demolition operations between October 7, 2023, and the beginning of October 2026, targeting 5,059 structures, including 1,894 homes.
