Occupation blows up homes and shells towns in southern Lebanon

Southern Lebanon witnessed a new Israeli escalation on Tuesday, including the demolition of homes in the towns of Mansouri and Majdal Zoun, artillery shelling, and military vehicle movements in Kfar Tibnit, Arnoun, and Brashit. The escalation comes amid ongoing Israeli military operations inside Lebanese territory, despite a ceasefire agreement. The current round of war dates back to March 2, 2026.

Southern Lebanon witnessed a new Israeli escalation on Tuesday, including the demolition of homes in batches in the town of Mansouri in the Tyre district, resulting in powerful explosions and columns of smoke. Occupation forces also blew up a number of homes in the town of Majdal Zoun, concurrent with continued military movements in the area. In Kfar Tibnit, an Israeli Merkava tank fired two shells towards the Jal al-Shihab area, alongside the movement of military vehicles near the town of Arnoun, while Israeli vehicles were spotted in Brashit coinciding with artillery shelling hitting the outskirts of the town. The escalation comes amid ongoing Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon, including airstrikes, artillery shelling, demolition of homes and facilities, and the expansion of the Israeli military deployment inside Lebanese territory. The current round of war dates back to March 2, 2026, when a wide confrontation erupted between Israel and Hezbollah alongside the regional war that began with a US and Israeli attack on Iran, before a ceasefire was reached in June. Despite the ceasefire agreement, Israeli attacks and military operations continued in southern Lebanon, while Israel kept its forces inside areas it declared a security zone. The latest published tally by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, on September 25, showed that the total victims of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon since October 8, 2023, rose to 8,953 martyrs and 30,649 wounded. According to the ministry, the casualty toll since the start of the current round of aggression on March 2, 2026, until September 25, reached 4,386 martyrs and 12,413 wounded.
