Danish company Novo (formerly Novo Nordisk) raised its 2026 annual forecasts after a better-than-expected third quarter, mainly thanks to the Wegovy weight-loss pill. Third-quarter revenues totaled $11.9 billion, a 4% increase compared to the same period last year. The Wegovy pill generated $810 million in revenue, a 53% jump from the second quarter. Novo reported that the Wegovy brand holds more than 50% of new treatment initiations in the U.S. obesity drug market. Meanwhile, the company announced that starting in 2027, it will reduce the price of Wegovy in the U.S. by about 50% to $675 list price. Reported operating profit fell 9% due to accounting write-offs and restructuring costs.
