Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu petitioned the Jerusalem District Court on Sunday demanding that the police be ordered to provide information regarding the legal representation of Deputy Chief Rinat Saban. Saban, an investigator in the Case 4000 investigations, petitioned against National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, who refused to promote her to the rank of Deputy Chief. Saban received legal representation from the Movement for Quality Government, approved by the then-police legal advisor. Netanyahu, through attorney Amit Hadad, filed a freedom of information request with the police, but they refused to hand over the documents, claiming they constitute an 'internal memorandum'. A previous request by Netanyahu to his judges on the matter was rejected. Recently, the Jerusalem District Court rejected Ben Gvir's conduct and set a final timetable for Saban's promotion, threatening a court order if the appointment is not approved by March 23, 2026.
