Former head of the Israeli Prime Minister's Office Tzachi Braverman admitted during a police interrogation that he changed the time of Benjamin Netanyahu's phone call with his military secretary Avi Gil, which took place on the morning of October 7, 2023. According to the investigation materials, Braverman changed the time recorded in the protocol from 06:40 to 06:29, effectively merging two separate calls into one time. The difference between the calls was 11 minutes. During that interval, the military secretary received additional intelligence information. Avi Gil suggested that the change of time could have been connected to an attempt to shape a certain version of the events of October 7, including to bolster accusations against the security forces. The very fact of altering an official protocol could have serious legal consequences - up to ten years' imprisonment. The investigative actions have already been completed, and the case materials have been in the prosecutor's office for more than a year, but a decision on filing charges has still not been made.
