MK Limor Son Har Melach eulogized Mor Shamli, the widow of Alon Shamli who was murdered in the shooting attack in Alexandria, Egypt, in October 2023. Shamli passed away on Saturday at the age of 35, after a prolonged period of deep mental suffering since her husband's murder. Son Har Melach recalled their meeting at a conference dealing with the Egyptian threat, and wrote: "Mor's words are also her testament. The State of Israel must face the Egyptian threat, recognize the great danger emanating from the southern border, and not close its eyes to a reality that could exact a heavy price from us." Mor Shamli lost her husband in the attack on October 8, 2023, a day after the October 7 massacre.
