Murder of Caucasian mafia boss solved: prosecutor's statement filed against suspect

Police announced the solving of the murder of Yanis Yusheyev, who was shot dead at a gas station in Caesarea last month. A prosecutor's statement was filed against Doron Weizman, a 54-year-old resident of Moshav Hazon with a criminal record, suspected of carrying out the shooting. The investigation was based on technological, intelligence, and forensic means.

Police announced today (Tuesday) the solving of the murder of Yanis Yusheyev, 41, from Or Akiva, who was shot dead last month at a gas station in Caesarea. Upon completion of the investigation, a prosecutor's statement was filed against the main suspect, Doron Weizman from Moshav Hazon, 54, who has a criminal record including past prison terms. The investigation began on August 23 after receiving a report of gunfire. Detectives from the Coastal District Central Unit conducted a covert and overt investigation using technological, intelligence, and forensic means. During the investigation, several suspects were arrested but all were released except for Weizman, who according to police pulled the trigger. His detention was extended from time to time. An evidentiary foundation has now been established against him, and in the coming days the Haifa District Attorney's Office is expected to file an indictment and request his detention until the end of proceedings.
