Memorandum of Understanding to Support Industrial Recovery in Gaza

The Gaza Governorates Electricity Distribution Company and the Palestinian General Federation of Industries signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing joint cooperation and supporting recovery efforts and the reopening of damaged industrial facilities in the Gaza Strip. The signing took place in the presence of the General Director of the Electricity Company, Dr. Muhammad Taha Al-Astal, and a member of the Federation's Board of Directors, Nafel Abu Kamil, along with a delegation of directors, board members, and representatives of industrial and construction sectors. Discussions focused on the facilities' needs for electricity and energy services, enhancing communication channels, and exchanging data to support the survey and assessment of damage to the industrial sector, and planning for the recovery and reconstruction phase. Al-Astal affirmed the company's commitment to developing partnerships with productive sectors, noting that coordination with the industrial sector is an important part of supporting the continuity of economic activity. For his part, Abu Kamil emphasized the importance of the memorandum in building practical cooperation mechanisms between the Federation and the company. The memorandum comes within a joint approach to strengthening institutional partnership and supporting the path of economic recovery.
