Media Forum Condemns Targeting of Journalist Muhammad al-Najjar

The Palestinian Media Forum condemned the targeting of journalist Muhammad Abd al-Aziz al-Najjar, a broadcaster on the Holy Quran Radio, who was killed in the Israeli aggression on Gaza. The forum called for independent international investigations into the targeting of journalists and accountability for those responsible, renewing the call to stop the war and protect journalists.

The Palestinian Media Forum condemned the targeting of journalist Muhammad Abd al-Aziz al-Najjar, a media figure and broadcaster on the Holy Quran Radio affiliated with the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, who was killed as a result of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. The forum stated in a statement that al-Najjar's death raises the number of Palestinian journalists killed since the start of the war to 263 journalists, considering that this reflects the scale of the ongoing targeting of media workers and attempts to prevent the transmission of the truth. The forum called for opening serious and independent investigations into all violations against Palestinian journalists and holding those responsible accountable. It also called on the international community, human rights organizations, and press freedom bodies to assume their responsibilities and work to open independent investigations and prosecute those responsible before international judicial authorities. The forum renewed its call for serious international steps to stop the war on Gaza, protect journalists, and ensure their ability to perform their work safely. The forum mourned the martyred journalist and all martyrs of the journalistic family, offering condolences and wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded.
