Antisemitism in Britain: A worrying rise in the number of incidents at universities

A new report by the CST (Community Security Trust) organization reveals an approximately 14% increase in the number of antisemitic incidents at universities in Britain over the past year, with a significant rise in the baseline compared to the years preceding the October 7 attack. According to the report, about 62% to two-thirds of the incidents are directly related to Israel, using anti-Israel rhetoric alongside expressions of hatred. There has been a worrying increase in the involvement of academic faculty and administrators, with over half of their statements including comparisons to Nazis and the Holocaust. For the first time, severe cases of violence on campuses have been documented. The Israeli Embassy in London expressed deep concern and called for decisive action. The British Education Secretary, Lucy Powell, described the data as troubling and emphasized an expectation of zero tolerance.
